UNDERWATER CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION "A PADI Distinctive Specialty Rating" Rick's offers one of the few Underwater Crime scene courses in the region. This course is designed to give a rescue response team or Advanced Open Water divers the special skills and techniques necessary to successfully locate, recover, process and preserve items of potential evidence, which may otherwise be lost. This informal underwater training helps focus on increasing your knowledge on crime scene preservation and establishing diving officers and Underwater Crime Scene Investigators as experts in their fields, adding to your credibility in court. Divers will increase their underwater skills and confidence while being exposed to specialty areas including but not limited to the use of underwater video equipment, metal detectors, various line searches, lift bag safety, group search patterns and organization. If you are a diving enthusiast who wants to increase your diving experience and knowledge or have some interest in law enforcement, this program is a must. Prerequisites are the Advanced Open Water certification and a minimum of 25 logged dives. This program is also approved by the States minimum standards for Law enforcement officers and a must for any evidence recovery "dive team" or someone that may want to join one. If you work for a department that may be thinking of forming an underwater response team, this would definitely be one of the first steps. Taught by PADI Master Instructor Rick Newton and a PADI Divemaster Law Enforcement Training Officer.
