Kadavu Island is 48 nautical miles south east of Suva and is relatively untouched. The only way around Kadavu is by boat. Timeless laid back villages are scattered along the shores. Rugged volcanic pointed hills and densely forested landscapes falls away to deeply indented bays rich in mangrove habitats volcanic rock cliffs and stunning coconut laced beaches. The Great Astrolabe Reef provides a meandering barrier protection the length of the southern coast. Waisalima Beach is located on the remote eastern tip adjacent to the Naiqoro Passage which is the most important breeding ground for the entire Great Astrolabe Reef.
When diving the Great Astrolabe Reef it becomes apparent the third largest living organism on Earth is also one of the world’s richest marine ecosystems. With a diverse range of dive sites in warm tropical waters the pristine, and abundant beauty of the reef is further enhanced by the cooler flow of Pacific Ocean currents swirling up from the depths of the Worlds fourth deepest oceanic trench, thus maintaining a healthy kaleidoscope of marine life which is a treasure unsurpassed elsewhere in Fiji.
Waisalima Beach offers a range of Traditional Fijian bures to funky upbeat deluxe bures for ultimate comfort to guests. All the bures boast absolute beach frontage, hot showers, solar lighting, great beds and bedding. The main bure has just recently been rebuilt providing a refreshing beachside appeal oozing open friendliness with all who land at Waisalima Beach.
More exciting news for this stunning location is that Viti Watersports 5 Star PADI operation of long standing repute is now proudly managing the Waisalima Dive Centre. The new Viti Water Sports Dive Centre is built including the installation of a new up market compressor and brand new tanks. The VWS dive team run scuba courses from Discover Scuba right through to Dive Master in their fantastic Centre. New equipment for hire wetsuits, Sherwood and Oceanic brand BCDs and Regs are all to ensure you enjoy safe and wonderful scuba experiences while diving the Great Astrolabe Reef.
Meals are prepared in an open kitchen by three lovely cooks who really know how to turn out scrumptious hearty servings for hungry divers. Yummy traditional Fijian fare, along with International dishes make up a delicious menu. Indulge in plenty of seasonal fruits and home baked delicacies for breakfast or even fresh eggs from the Waisalima free range chicken hutch. All kinds of vegetables are grown on site in the kitchen garden or in the main farm. Fish is in ready supply while crabs and lobster are seasonal and meats are imported. Traditional Lovo feasts are lovingly prepared for your pleasure once a week. These evenings are a hoot, listening to the locals enchanting guitars singing and laughter. Music to sooth your souls laughing & dancing the night away around the kava bowl.

Sunair Flights depart Nadi everyday 12 noon. Flight takes 45 minutes, to arrive at Vunisea airstrip. Boatman greets you for 1 to 11/2 hour transfer along the stunningly wild Kadavu coast. This transfer is a visual scenic treat.For the more budget and adventure concsious a once weekly ferry departs from Narayan Wharf Suva harbour every Tuesday night bound for Kadavu and we pick you up for free from Kavala Bay stop off.
