After coming under attack by US Navy carrier based aircraft for two days, Japanese shipping in Manila Bay was directed to move to Coron Bay, a supposedly safe anchorage opposite Coron Town, on Busuanga Island, in the Calamian Island Group, at the North end of Palawan Province.
