Cocos, a United Nations World Heritage site, is the largest uninhabited island in the world lying some 300 miles off Costa Rica’s Pacific coast. Steep black cliffs are fringed by lush tropical vegetation and split by tumbling waterfalls. A combination of strong currents and nutrient rich waters create the perfect environment for some very special marine life. The sea floor is volcanic rock and home to smaller species like frog fish while above them jack, tuna and snapper form giant schools. For most the main attraction are the larger predators: rays, reef sharks dolphins and of course schooling scalloped hammerheads. Okeanos Aggressor
